Without the Cavalcade of Custom Homes, it can be easy to forget that home construction and decoration are fluid industries that are constantly changing to adapt with the times. From new innovations in technology to shifts in style trends, homebuilders and designers have a lot to showcase with each passing year, and the city of Naperville, Illinois, provides an excellent outlet to do just that. The Cavalcade of Custom Homes showcases the trendiest homes on the market!
An annual tradition in Naperville, the Cavalcade of Custom Homes is presented by the Northern Illinois Home Builders Association (NIHBA). It’s the largest home show in the state, and it welcomes thousands of attendees. Running for three weeks each summer, the Cavalcade features six new luxury homes that the general public can tour. A different community within the city is chosen each year, and several of the region’s top homebuilders are given the opportunity to showcase their work by crafting a custom home from the ground up. After the homes are constructed, they are appointed with cutting-edge appliances, technology, and furnishings to help showcase the latest developments in interior design.
What is the Cavalcade of Custom Homes?
The 2014 Cavalcade of Custom Homes took place from July 26th through August 16th. Held in the acclaimed Ashwood Park North community, it featured homes built by Crestview Builders, Inc., James Scott Design and Build, LLC, King’s Court Builders, Inc., and Overstreet Builders. Being chosen for the Cavalcade of Custom Homes is considered a great honor to the builders because only the cream of the crop are selected. The homes featured this summer included options like custom bathrooms, kitchens, closets, and garages. These two-story floor plans had up to four bedrooms, spread over about 4,000 square feet of living space.
Throughout the three-week show, the NIHBA features a number of special activities meant to attract different demographics. Examples from this year’s Cavalcade included Realtor’s Day, Ladies Night, Military/Veterans Day, and Family Day. While the event is a great way to bring the community together and celebrate the excellent work of some of the region’s top builders, the ultimate goal is to inspire both current and future homeowners to consider the myriad ways that a house can represent the personality of its inhabitants. Volunteers and employees are stationed within all of the homes to answer any questions you might have regarding design and construction.
The target crowd for the Cavalcade includes individuals who are considering building a new home as well as those interested in remodeling or redecorating. It’s easy to discover a number of local businesses that can help with every facet of your project, and you will undoubtedly leave the event with a number of contacts in addition to plenty of inspiration. All six of the custom homes featured each year are also for sale, so prospective buyers have the opportunity to tour beautiful new construction and put in offers on homes that interest them.
The Cavalcade of Custom Homes also includes a charitable element. A portion of ticket costs goes to worthy non-profits that are making a difference in the community. This year’s charities included the Make-a-Wish Foundation and the Changing Children’s Worlds Foundation.
The Cavalcade of Custom Homes has Credibility!
Since 1956, the NIHBA has been an invaluable resource for companies within the local building industry as well as consumers trying to find companies to work with. The organization welcomes members from every division of homebuilding, including builders, remodelers, suppliers, land developers, engineers, architects, real estate professionals, bankers, and more. The NIHBA is an affiliate of the Home Builders Association of Illinois and the National Association of Home Builders.
